Master’s in Nursing Programs

Once upon a time, you needed a bachelor’s degree in nursing before you could pursue a master’s degree in nursing. Today, it’s a much different story, with various types of MSN programs available. Depending on your current education level, it can take anywhere from 19 months to several years to earn an MSN.

Traditional MSN Programs

Tailored towards BSN degree holders, these programs take approximately two years to complete.

RN-to-MSN Programs

These online bridge programs make it possible for working registered nurses with an associate degree to earn an MSN at an accelerated pace.

Direct Entry MSN Programs

If you have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree—and no nursing experience whatsoever—these online-based programs leverage your undergraduate education so that it’s possible to earn an MSN within a compressed time frame.

However, because these programs are for non-nurses, you shouldn’t expect to graduate and enter the profession at an advanced level. You’ll need to learn the ropes and prove yourself before you can pursue post–MSN certification in any number of advanced nursing specialties, from family nurse practitioner to clinical nurse specialist to nurse midwife.

We partner with private nursing schools that offer Direct Entry MSN programs. So if you’re interested in this type of accelerated learning path, complete our online form to have an admissions representative contact you.
