With roots dating back to 1858 as a Baptist secondary school, the college awarded its first baccalaureate degree in 1884. Today, Linfield College operates across three main programs, giving students the opportunity to explore over 47 areas of study. The main campus in McMinnville offers a traditional liberal arts curriculum, while the Portland campus is home to the Linfield Good Samaritan Nursing School, where the college has offered a four-year BSN degree since 1982 in collaboration with the Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center. Most students join the nursing school after completing prerequisites at the main campus in McMinnville. Linfield College also offers an adult degree program, with courses taught both online or across eight different sites throughout the state.
