Nursing at Southern Vermont College

Snapshot of Southern Vermont College

Southern Vermont College came to be in 1974 when the Sisters of Saint Joseph turned what was previously known as Saint Joseph College over to an independent board of trustees. Eventually, the college’s religious affiliation discontinued and it came to be known as Southern Vermont College. Today, SVC serves as a liberal arts institution, with further emphasis on professional and career training across its 17 majors, including nursing. The SVC Division of Nursing offers a traditional BSN and an RN to BSN program with a strong foundation in liberal arts.
