The Career Path for a Telemetry Nurse

A telemetry nurse monitors patient’s vital signs with an electrocardiogram or other life sign-measuring devices. They usually provide care to patients with gastrointestinal diseases, heart failure, diabetes and other acute diagnoses.

Preparation Path

  • GET YOUR DIPLOMA, ASN, OR BSN
  • PASS YOUR NCLEX AND BECOME AN RN
  • GET 1,750 HOURS OF EXPERIENCE IN A PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT (875 OF HOURS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN ONE YEAR OF PASSING THE NCLEX)
  • PASS YOUR PCCN
