Mercer University College of Nursing

Mercer University’s Accelerated BSN Track

Mercer University was founded in 1833, and its Georgia Baptist College of Nursing is the oldest nursing program in the state. Mercer offers a Second-Degree Accelerated Nursing track in Atlanta, Georgia. Students can graduate in as little as 12 months after having completed a requisite number of credit hours over the course of three semesters. With start dates each year in May, August, and January, prospective students are always close to a start date. This ABSN track follows a hybrid learning model.

Students complete their coursework through an online learning platform that caters to a diverse set of learning styles. Skills and simulation labs are completed on-site and are equipped with high-tech medical manikins and hospital equipment to simulate real-life clinical environments. This allows students to practice carrying out realistic scenarios in a safe setting. Finally, students will complete clinical rotations, which are carried out at some of the top health care facilities in the Atlanta metro area. Students can expect to experience a variety of nursing specialties and a diverse patient population, preparing them for their future careers.
